I recommend Maria Rasputin's book. She was his daughter.

I watched this book talk and it was excellent. He has such a nice, down to earth style. Very intriguing, that a key example of Rasputin's debauchery never happened, as confirmed by the diary of the eyewitness saying he was in Kiev that night. Glad to have you following this trail, Julius.

Oh, you might have seen that both kitten and I recommended your stack to Pasheen of Diva Drops, who had mentioned the Romanovs. So many lines of research converging!

Is there a way to 'tag' someone (kitten and yourself) to alert you to my response?

Great comment, Julius, and important not to sensationalize or exaggerate. To alert kitten, I'd say post a reply to her comment on that thread.

Oh thank you, and thank you.

... and you will notice that Smith does not whitewash Rasputin - he just sets the record straight and un-demonises him where appropriate. I feel under so much pressure now to get my next three (or four) articles posted.

One will be some selected passages from this (Smith's) book, one on Maria Rasputin's (his daughter's) memoirs, one on a writing by Rasputin himself on his thoughts and recollections of his pilgrimage to the Holy Land and one on a dossier of miscellaneous links.
