I have read several other books that add more credibility to the veracity of the Oera Linda.

I have short listed that book on my wish list. They both went off on a few 'weird tangents' at times but mostly excellent in terms of questioning history and the role of religions. They discuss Anatoly Fomenko with due skepticism and agree that he goes too far (I have only a cursory awareness).
Whilst I respect what this person is trying to do, I think he is seriously missing his mark. The only history he seems to be aware of is the history of men killing men. This is NOT how culture is developed. Culture comes from settlement, from supplying food for the tribe, from raising children with the best ethics, from education, from celebrations, from everything BUT how men kill one another.
The moral standing of a culture is critical, and, in the west, we are losing it or have lost it. We have to recover it, but not by reviving the worship of men killing men. We have to rediscover our real history - which is the history of the non-warriors - the people, women and elders, who build cultures, not the warrior men who destroy them. There is nothing to be proud of there.

I am going to have to re-view those episodes on the Oera Linda book. It was my first exposure but I remember feeling very impressed.
I see that Wikipedia has dismissed it as a fraud which is pretty fine indication that it contains a lot of truth. I intend to order and read it soon.
