Thank you Julius for compiling this resource for us to refer to. You must have perfected an efficient filing system.

You are right about trying to discern amongst conflicting stories. I know Persians living in AU that report that things back home are as bad as the west reports. Then I realise there are people that vote here in my own country and have the completely opposite view of things to me. So even hearing from a person that lives there, is necessary, but not sufficient. Discernment indeed.

Absolutely true. The people living in those places can be just as propagandized as anyone else far away. I look to my own experience having grown up in the Philippines thru Marcos' martial law years and the Aquino assassination -and only learned the full truth about all the hidden hands behind the events many years later while living abroad and reading lots of other sources.

Thank you for that very comprehensive dive, Julius, along with the personal history. My story is similar. I just saw Vanessa's article on Syria but I haven't done the deep research you have. I appreciate the context, and the clear illustration of how much is censored by all the missing videos.

Kudos to you Julius!

Excellent overview and introduction of truth reporters on Syria and the Levant.

Unfortunately the Levant being on the crossroads of 3 continents and gateway to Asia has been geopolitically pivotal for over a millennium. Its importance increased with opening of the Suez Canal in the 19th century and of even greater importance after discovery of oil in the early 20th century and subsequent establishment of the Jewish settler colony in the mid-twentieth century.

Wars of the 21st century had as purpose cementing control on the Levant and Southwest Asia.

For the Empire it is a life and death struggle. Losing the Levant entails losing control of the Arabian Peninsula and its oil reserves and hence End of Empire.

For the people of the Levant and Southwest Asia it is also a life and death struggle to get rid of the Empire and put an end to 150 years occupation that has brought genocide, misery and prevented development.

For Russia it is critical from a security standpoint for its underbelly in the Caucasus and Central Asia, to prevent the fall of the Levant to NATO and its Turkic and Wahabi head chopping proxies.

For China it is critical to secure its energy supplies from Iran and Iraq.

So what we have been witnessing in Gaza, Lebanon and Syria are manifestations of this struggle that is bound to escalate. Bloody year ahead.

That's a great concise summary of the larger geopolitical perspective, thank you, Fadi. Please do watch the interview by Neil Oliver with Kevork Almassian. They touch particularly on the Russian security standpoint and the importance of the Black Sea. Neil Oliver has really come along way since his early days co-hosting 'Coast' (which was just brilliant - it is the only box set I ever purchased).

Have you seen the Notes posted by someone called Laith here? He is outraged at the “support” and sympathy being given by many to Assad, says he’s a war criminal, displaced millions from their homes, and bombed the area he was in for no reason. It seems to be a very personal thing for him. I don’t know anything more about Laith.

I know nothing about the full situation and history in Syria. Know no one there, and can only rely on investigative journalists in the area, who may also have blind spots and a certain perspective on all things - as we all do. As Laith may have some, too.

Wow, such an extensive collection! Thanks for the mini-library of references on Syria.

Yes, it was Eva and Vanessa's reporting that I looked to for "the story that wasn't being told." Thank God for investigative journalists like them!

Thank you Teresa - there is so much I didn't include in this 'short' compilation. I did mention the White Helmets (see Vanessa Beeley) but I didn't even mention the psyop saga of Bana Alabed (and the involvement of the Turkish regime), the massacre of Syrian soldiers by the US (and Australian) air force to assist the advance of ISIS n Dier Ezzor, the evacuation of 'White Helmet' personnel to Israel, or the horrific massacre of busloads of children in Rashidin/Rashideen.

While I look for a couple of specific video links that come to mind, please do browse these channels ...
